ORGANIC FARMING

Organic farming is different from other types of farming in many respects. It encourages renewable resources and recycling, by restoring the nutrients found in the waste products back to the soil.
In livestock farming, meat and poultry production is controlled. Particular attention is paid to the welfare of the animals and the use of natural foodstuffs. The natural mechanisms of the environment are respected to control disease and harmful insects. No synthetic fertilisers, growth hormones, antibiotics or genetic modification is used. As an alternative, organic farmers rely on a series of techniques which help to maintain ecosystems and reduce pollution.
THE ORGANIC LOGO
The CEE organic logo bearing the wording “Controlled organic farming (EC Regulation 2092/91), has been designed for use on a voluntary basis by producers whose production methods and products are controlled and comply with EU standards.
Consumers purchasing the products can be sure that:
- at least 95% of the product ingredients have been obtained through organic farming
- the product complies with the official control regulations
- the product comes directly from the producer or processor in a sealed package.
